Researchers have found that the first group of participants had fewest cravings throughout the morning and afternoon. They ate 31% less calories for lunch. Therefore, this has proved that oatmeal for breakfast is the most efficient in people who have excess weight, because they consumed even 50% fewer calories for lunch.

Other subjects, of the two other groups, were already hungry 3 hours after they had their breakfast.

Namely, oatmeal remains stays in the stomach for a longer period of time, while cornflakes raise blood glucose levels quickly and automatically causes a sudden drop shortly after.
