Until now, we were certain that the purpose of bras is to hold the breasts in place and prevent them from moving around, which is especially the case in women with larger breasts.

However, Jean-Denis Rouillion, a professor at the University of Franche-Comte in Besancon and a sport science researcher, claims that according to his 15 year study of bras effect on 330 women between the ages of 18-35 years, wearing a bra from an early age had no effect on chest support, reduction in chest and back pain, or premature sagging. Additionally, the research showed that medically, physiologically, and anatomically, the breasts gain nothing from being denied gravity. On the contrary, breasts become saggier with a bra.

What’s more, the research team holds that the development of supporting breast tissue is stopped when women wear bra, whereas not wearing a bra would tone the breasts. In fact, the women in the research who stopped wearing bras during the study had a 7 millimeter lift in the nipples compared to women who regularly wore a bra. Furthermore, the team considers that bras are bad for circulation and they decrease the overall tone of the breasts. Dr. Stafford Broumand, a respected plastic surgeon from New York and one of Castle Connolly’s Top Cosmetic Doctors, believes that young women should be encouraged not to wear a bra as it will increase the collagen production and elasticity in their breasts, thus, the lift in developing breasts would be increased.

Therefore ladies, do not wait anymore, burn your bras and improve your breasts’ health immediately!
